LONE STAR COURT

Project Description

Work completed while employed with Ten Eyck Landscape Architects.

(visit TELA website here)

This boutique hotel located at the Domain in north Austin uses rustic materials to play on the heart strings of nostalgic West Texas.  As project manager for Ten Eyck Landscape Architects, Adam was responsible for the construction documentation and implementation of this unique space.

The site design showcases a large bioswale, meandering throughout the interior courtyard.  The bioswale collects water runoff from the surrounding roof tops and the adjacent site work.  This major landscape feature serves as the central spine of the site, stitching a multitude social spaces niches together.  LSC's unique path layout offers guest the ability to traverse the site while being surrounded by a garden of native plants.  The courtyard's custom swimming pool serves as an oasis for guests to escape the Texas heat during summer months.  Over winter, the tranquil water and board-formed concrete fountain add to ambiance.  This space truly provides an escape from the surrounding hustle and bustle from this busy commercial district.
